Data dari Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Kota Kediri menunjukkan bahwa daerah pusat Kota Kediri yaitu kecamatan Kota setiap tahun selalu terjadi banjir dengan durasi 15 – 45 menit dan tinggi banjir sampai 45 cm. Merujuk pada kondisi tersebut, maka diperlukan perencanaan ulang sistem drainase di Kecamatan Kota. Penelusuran penyebab banjir dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi kondisi eksisting dan limpasan rencana. Hasil dari evaluasi digunakan untuk merencanakan dan mengusulkan sistem pengendalian banjir yang optimal. Penyebab terjadinya banjir terletak pada saluran drainase kurang memadai dan kontur daerah yang terlalu datar. Hal ini semakin parah dengan keadaan gorong-gorong pada beberapa rel kereta api yang memiliki dimensi kecil jika dibandingkan dengan dimensi saluran drainasenya. Hasil dari evaluasi adalah mengusulkan perbaikan dan perubahan dimensi pada beberapa saluran dan gorong-gorong.Alt.

Data from the Department of Public Worh of Kediri, showes that flood at Kota district occurs annually, The retention lastest5 - 45 minutes with 45 cm depth. Therefore redesign of the drainage system In district of Kota are needed. The cause of flood was identified by evaluation the existing condition of the drainage channel . The result of the evaluation are used for new drainage channel in order to control the flood. It was found tahat flood was caused by in eduquate drainage system and the flat elevation.Moreover, the drainage of box culvet under the train track was also too small compared to its upstream channel. From the evaluation. It is suggested to improve andchange the dimension of same channel and box culvets.
